WMA Leadership Retreats

Wilderness environments provide an ideal setting to develop leadership skills through the progression of education, modeling, observation, evaluation, and application.  Students learn to submit to leadership, establish leadership, and express leadership.

WMA leaders (Electus) are taken on a week-long backpacking trip into the Ellicott Rock Wilderness Area.  They learn to become leaders for the upcoming school year.  Before the trip they are paired  to be "leaders of the day" (LOD's).  Worships, hikes and challenges are under their leadership and they develop new ideas and events for the new school year.
